Elizabeth Warren will break up big tech monopolies—Amazon, Google, and more—because the concentration of corporate power has led to the decline of middle class incomes and is at the root of America’s extreme income inequality. This will represent a significant reversal of the American government’s four decades long trend towards allowing mergers, conglomerates, and resulting mega-monopolies to dominate. The result has been stagnant wages, decreasing competition, the diminishing power of labor and a country where the top 1 percent of Americans own 40% of America’s wealth.

Warren’s plan would designate big tech companies like Amazon, Apple and Google as “platform utilities” and they will be prohibited from combining ownership of the platform with doing business on the platform themselves.
