The Insect Apocalypse
Author: | Category: Animals | Nature | Year: 2019
The world's insect populations has declined by 75%, in some areas. This decline indicates that something deeply disturbing is happening in our environment.
Without a doubt, humans are responsible for the rapid extinction of insects. Habitat destruction (deforestation), climate change, pesticide usage, water, land, and light pollution are all major factors in the demise of insects. The film presents studies that examine the devastating effect of these human activities on the smallest, but most essential members of the animal kingdom.
Through a series of studies featured in the film, we can witness this stark reality at work. Chemicals, widespread deforestation, water and land pollution, and climate change are the main culprits.
