Read the two articles above and think about the following:  Post your thoughts on Enlight21.com
1.    Does Russia have a strong case that supports its desire to take over Ukraine?   Yes, No, and why.
2.    If you are the leader on the American team that is currently negotiating with Russian leaders over the crisis in Ukraine—how would you approach these negotiations?  In other words, what would you say to discourage the Russian leaders from invading Ukraine?  What would be your strategy?

1. No because Ukraine just wants to be left alone, but Russia just wants Ukraine back because it seems like they don't want the Soviet Union to die away 2. I'm not really good at persuading people to do stuff, but my strategy would probably be to say that Ukraine is an independent country ...Read more and even if Russia takes over Ukraine again they'll have to also take control of the people, because even if they say they own Ukraine on paper, they're also going to have to make everybody in Ukraine believe them Less

No. 2 would be very hard for the Russian leaders to accomplish, because most Ukrainians want their country to be a separate nation, not a satellite country under Russian control.
