Sophomore Year

This year, I started my sophomore year of high school. Sophomore year has unlocked so many new experiences for me, both good and bad. I had the opportunity to take a wider variety of courses that my high school provides for their students. However, I soon learned that many of these classes come with a lot of hard work and dedication. For example, I am now taking two math classes, Spanish 3, and AP Euro. All of these courses require hours of studying, which of course, is a lot more than freshman year.
Last year, my math teacher recommened that I take two math classes so that I could jump further ahead in my mathematical career. My major interest and liking for math made it very easy to say yes to this opportunity. The transition from taking only one math class to two math classes was definitely difficult, but I think my devotion to this allowed for an easy adjustment. Spanish 3 was also pretty easy to adjust to. Although it is a difficult course, the guidance of my considerate teacher helped the class become significantly less challenging.
However, not all of these transitions were this simple. AP Euro was by far the hardest class to adapt to, considering it is the first AP I have ever taken. This class has taught me a lot about dedication and hard work. It requires a lot of reading from textbooks and memorizing the hundreds names and dates involved in all of European history. In the first semester, I had a hard time trying to discover the best way for me to study the content I needed to. As the year progressed, I found the perfect and most effective way for me to study, which improved my test and quiz scores a lot. Moral of the story is, although something may be difficult to adapt to, determination will most likely provide for a smooth adjustment.
