One Who Has Impacted My Life

One person who has impacted my life and helped me to become the person I am today is my church youth pastor, Pastor Paul Dubé. Pastor Paul came to my church two years ago after our previous pastor moved to Turkey to become a missionary. At first, he seemed like a calm and quiet person, but as that first year went by, I started to see his wild and humorous aspects. It also was probably because I had grown closer to him and he had become more comfortable with me, especially with him driving me home multiple times after certain youth group events. Now that I have known him for two years, I have not only seen his funny side but I have also seen how much of an impact he has had on my church brothers and sisters as well as myself. Through Pastor Paul, I have changed in so many ways that I am so proud of.
Love is one thing that I have learned from him. Every week, I would truly feel his love for our youth group and for me personally. His sermons, prayers, and conversations with his students and myself have all played a part in displaying his endless love for us. He is always so willing to hear our concerns and our joys and just knowning that there is a person who cares that much for us is such a huge blessing. My gratitude in knowing this has also driven me to want to love others and to show this love in similar ways. I want to help my friends and peers to feel the same comfort and encouragement I experienced from Pastor Paul. Every now and then, I would feel motivated to really have a conversation with my friends and other youth group brothers and sisters, and I find it to be a huge blessing to have these opportunities to encourage and help them in every way I can. It is through Pastor Paul that I have really learned to love and treat my fellow brothers and sisters the way I do as well as to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ.
