Knives Out is a Mystery/Comedy film regarding the secrets behind the murder of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey. The family living in the Thrombey mansion explain to a group of detectives about what they were doing the night before the murder, and most of the family was suspicious that Marta Cabrera(played by Ana de Armas), the maid of the house, was to blame for Thrombey's murder. Throughout the movie, hints of jokes and humorous phrases were added to lighten the mood of this strange murder case.

Normal crime scene investigation movies tend to be more dark, serious, and sometimes gruesome, but Knives Out is no ordinary horror movie. Despite the never-ending finger-pointing among everyone in the house, arousing suspicion among each other, the humor incorporated in this film make the audience turn their frowns upside-down. Jokes were sneaked in all parts of the movie, even in the gravest scenes, like the murder itself and the funeral. I really believe that this movie singles itself out of all murder mystery films, and the plot that this movie runs on is truly a distinct and fun twist.

I believe this movie is one of the most successful and lighthearted movies I've ever watched. The movie even assigned Captain America's Chris Evans to a big role in the film, which in my opinion brought the film even closer together. The box office of this movie neared almost $300 million, ad the ratings were all above 8/10. I would highly recommend teens and adults to watch this spirited and adventurous film.
