Corona Virus

A pandemic is something that I never thought I would experience in my lifetime, and now that it’s really happening, reality is starting to sink in. As a sophomore, I don't think I have it as bad as the freshman, juniors, or seniors. The freshman only had half of their freshman experience, the juniors are stressed about testing, and the seniors wont have prom, graduation, or memories that could have been made these last few months of school. But I feel like one major way that the corona virus has affected me is by my softball season getting canceled. I was really looking forward to this year because my friend and I were captain of our junior varsity team, and I thought that was a good chance for me to practice my leadership skills and better myself as a person. Even though our season didn’t last long, the four weeks that we did have taught me quite a lot. A lot of the people on our team have never played before, and that taught me to be patient when teaching them how to play. Since we had one coach, he relied on us captains a lot, and that showed me that I needed to step up and take control. But on the plus side, since I am home all the time now, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my family and my brother, who is a freshman in college. His last semester at UC Riverside was canceled, and he is going to have online classes for the rest of the year instead. One thing that I don’t like about all this is that we are self-quarantined. I am the type of person who needs to go out and be social, and I feel like this is making me feel really antisocial in a way, and I can’t wait until this is all over.
