Among the books that were mentioned, I personally got interested in the last book I saw: Red Comet: The Short Life and Blazing Art of Sylvia Plath. Other books, which I couldn't really put any interest in, also seemed to be hold some meanings (?) but I would have to read in order to know. I ...Read more have read some of Sylvia Plath's poems, and while they're such famous poems, it personally shocked me. All of the books mentioned in the article seem very interesting, however, I have never heard of any of these books before. Of course a book does not need to be the most famous to be the best, but being "The Best Books of 2021" I would assume that I heard of at least one of them before. Another ...Read more thing that I noticed is that three of the ten books are about racism. There is also nothing wrong with that but maybe that could have influenced the rankings a bit. After that it seems like I am being overly critical so now I want to talk about something a bit more "positive". And that would be the book covers. All of the book covers are striking and unique. The one that gave me the greatest first impression is the cover for The Copenhagen Trilogy because it makes me intrigued as to what the picture could be symbolic of. Less
