Dear _________:

I am writing in support of SB-467 The Anti-fracking bill.

Talking points…choose one:

  • Part of creating a 100% clean energy future is also keeping fossil fuels in the ground.  Please co-author, vote yes on SB 467 and ask your colleagues to do the same.
  • Extracting massive amounts of oil — especially with destructive techniques that impact our water, pollute our environment, and threaten public health — is simply inconsistent with California’s commitment to a sustainable climate future and it’s time we transition.  Please co-author, vote yes on SB 467 and ask your colleagues to do the same.
  • This bill, SB 467, would stop issuing or renewing permits for hydraulic fracturing and other extraction methods starting in 2022 and would prohibit fracking, steaming and other risky oil and gas production techniques starting in 2027. Please co-author, vote yes on SB 467 and ask your colleagues to do the same.
  • The bill will also restrict all new or modified permits for oil and gas production within 2,500 feet of any residences, schools, health care facilities or long-term care institutions such as dormitories or prisons. Please co-author, vote yes on SB 467 and ask your colleagues to do the same.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
