Group Project

It’s after school and I walk as quickly as I can to meet up with three other people in the shopping mall. I am excited. This is the first group project that I have done in school. And luckily I don't have to do this project at my house. The people who I am working with are the same ones where I shared a table with in my Chinese class.
After we met up and got our ingredients, we went into Deb’s dad’s car. Deb was a new student. I was very surprised that he came from Russia, since he looked like he should have come from China. When asked why he lived in Russia, he replied that it was just where his parents worked. It was also very interesting in getting to know him. He has a soft tone when he speaks and has a slight accent. I found that he is a good musician and plays piano very well.
After we got to Deb’s home, he led us into his room and then the kitchen. I thought that his house looked very neat. Right away, Ed, proposed to us that we should start brainstorming on how we should do our videos. Ed was the first person I made friends with in highschool. It’s not that I had no friends when coming into highschool, it’s just that he was the first person that I made friends with in highschool. We started off the year with being in the same table group all the time. Having him there helped me transitioned into high school better since we both were in the same boat. I still keep contact with him as I do with Deb. Honestly, I was surprised by the amount of people that came up to me and said, “How did you know Ed?”. Usually, the people I make friends with are not that popular as Ed. It was very fun being with him.
After discussing our plan for the video, we decided to experiment a bit and cook a small amount of food. That video was supposed to be for cooking. It turns out that out of all of us, Wed had the most experience in cooking. He almost did all of the cooking and frying while I just helped chop up the ingredients with Ed while Deb went to find some recording device. Out of everyone in the group, I feel like Wed is the most social. It seems like everyone in the class talks to him, even the teacher. I was surprised when he wanted to join our group because it seemed like he would have done the project with other people.
In the end, the group project was a fun experience, except our video was bad. But it was nice seeing how most of my school project was usually done in class.
