Analogy Between Guns and Cars

In a way, the analogy between guns and cars are strong, but both items are used in completely different ways.

Typically, when one thinks of a car, they will think of it as a faster means of transportation not a tool of destruction. A gun is, but a car is not. For a gun, whoever owns it has the ability to kill, no matter what the situation is. However, a car is used as a means to benefit society, enabling people to live farther, but at a cost. Also to get a car, people needed to undergo training for at least an year, meet a certain age requirement and also pass a nationwide test. For guns, I highly doubt anyone will check you age and background before giving you a gun. For example, it is really easy for a 16 year old to get their hands on guns and just shoot on impulse. As clearly seen it is much harder to acquire a car then it is to use as a gun because cars and guns are fundamentally different and the former takes much longer time to acquire.

However, the and analogy is the strongest is that many people are just plain idiots when behind the wheel. Road raging, random turns and ignorance of law are some of the most common actions on the road. All of these can lead to fatalities ranging from a simple car crash to a deliberate hit-and-run. And the slighting of negligence to attention could also potentially end your life. The same is with the gun as it is very easy to kill someone and it is too, very easy for one to kill each other, especially when doing so for revenge. There are also many people who shouldn’t be driving cars, but they do which is a lot like people using guns.
